I Chose GW Because: I chose to attend George Washington University because I was excited by the opportunity to study public health in a vibrant city like DC, where there are so many opportunities to engage with the field beyond the classroom. I was also immediately drawn to the kindness and passion of the students I met, and I knew I wanted to be part of a community so motivated to collaborate, support one another, and make a meaningful impact in the world.
Bragging Rights: I began my undergraduate studies as a computational neurobiology major, and although my academic path evolved, my background in computer science continues to inform how I approach public health problems. It has trained me to think analytically, anticipate edge cases, and approach interventions with both creativity and systems-level thinking.
Hobbies/Personal Interests: My hobby is having hobbies! I love trying new crafts and picking up anything that lets me work with my hands: crochet, paint-by-numbers, clay art, gardening, and whatever else catches my attention next. I like the mix of creativity and low-pressure experimentation, and I’m always happy to be in the middle of a project (or starting a new one before the last one is finished)!
People Might Be Surprised to Know That: I used to compete in Bhangra, a high-energy folk dance from Punjab, in college, which was one of the most fun parts of my time there. I also got to make music mixes for competitions my team performed at!
