Student Network

We encourage current MCH students and alumni to take part in the meetings and activities of the George Washington Maternal and Child Health Network Network, GWMCHN. The George Washington Maternal and Child Health Network (GWMCHN) of The Milken School of Public Health is a student-led organization established to foster a community of future leaders within the Maternal and Child Health field. GWMCHN aims to create opportunities for students to be better prepared for today's MCH workforce, interact and engage with the community, and learn from alumni, mentors and each other.

"Over the past year being a part of the MCH Student Network has shown me that it's an important organization  because it connects people new to the field, like I was last year, with a community of similarly passionate individuals to learn from, socialize with, and grow alongside in our career development!"

"I joined the MCH Student Network because I am passionate about improving health outcomes for women, children, and families. This organization links me to a community of individuals with the same commitment to equity and community health while allowing me the opportunity to learn from diverse perspectives and experiences. Furthermore, it presents various possibilities for professional development, meaningful discussions, and collaborations on public health initiatives that address real-world challenges. In the end, I joined the MCH Student Network to solidify my understanding of the field and to be part of a community dedicated to long lasting, and meaningful change."

"The MCH Student Network provides students with opportunities to connect with peers and grow professionally. Having a network of like-minded individuals who are supportive and passionate about MCH is extremely helpful for preparing for a career after graduation. I appreciated the wide array of workshops and networking events during my first year of the program, and I’m excited to contribute to planning more great events this year!"
